DCSS and Grundon at 2013 Event Production Awards!

DC Site Services would like to send out huge congratulations to Grundon Waste Management for winning the Best Waste Management Company at the 2013 Event Production Awards!

DC Site Services' Operations Director Matt Hettle was delighted to be invited to join Grundon Waste Management, one of our main suppliers for festival and event waste disposal and recycling, at the 2013 Event Production Awards. What made the evening of 5th Feb 2013 was when out of the four nominees, Grundon Waste Management was declared the winner for Best Waste Management Company of the 2013 Event Production Awards!

DC Site Services has worked with Grundon Waste Management for many years; our first collaborative project being the Reading Festival about 35 years ago - before DC Site Services was even incorporated!

Working together with Grundon Waste Management, DC Site Services is able to achieve great environmental results for our festival and event clients. Working hand-in-hand with Grundon all of the litter and recycling collected by our event staff is properly segregated which results in a huge reduction in waste heading to landfill. Grundon's Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and Energy From Waste (EFW) plant has enabled us to divert up to 100% from Landfill at many greenfield events.

GrundonIn 2012 we worked with Grundon Waste Management at twelve events starting with Golf Live in Kent, then Glastonbudget in Leicestershire, Beachbreak Live in Wales, Taste of London, Lounge on the farm in Kent, 2000 Trees Festival near Cheltenham, The Royal Welsh show, CarFest South, Big Feastival, BBC Proms in the park and various events in and around London supporting the Olympics and Diamond Jubilee.

The combination of our fantastic event staff and the services provided by Grundon Waste Management allow us to process over 500 tonnes of event waste and divert over 350 tonnes from landfill. So a big thank you to all of the staff who worked so hard with us at events in 2012, and to Grundon Waste Management and particularly Peter Kent their Event Manager for your continued improvements to services which enable us to achieve such fantastic results.
