Applications for 2018 Events & Festivals are Now Open!

And we’re off! Applications for the 2018 DC Event Calendar are now open. If you have a DCSS PAAM profile, then blow away the cobwebs and take a look at what needs updating for the new festival season. Your tax declaration for certain will need updating (for paid workers, not volunteers) as this reset automatically at the beginning of each year.

Now for the fun bit, scroll through both Event Calendars (paid work and volunteering) to see what’s coming up and which Events & Festivals you’d like to apply to work at with DC. Remember, all applications are allocated on a first-come first- served basis (after being approved) so apply now!

This goes for our volunteers too. We have two separate PAAM applications systems for paid work and for volunteers. If volunteering is more your cup of tea, then log into or create your DCSS PAAM Volunteers profile.

This year we’re phasing in a few new changes for the better…

  • There are now no booking fees to pay when making an application
  • Our FAQ section is undergoing a face lift (more on that soon)
  • Deposits from 2017 have now been reduced! Our new rates are £25, £75, £150 & £250

And whether you’re new to DC this year or an existing crew member, you’ll definitely want to take a look at our Ongoing Employment option. This is a more formal way of applying where you can bypass, at least in part, the deposit system. All you need to do is list two references, or at least one, and then choose this option on the deposit screen. Whatever deposit you do pay is returned to you in full. You also have the option to pay your deposit in instalments rather than all at once. Feel free to contact the office to discuss any of these updates further.

Applications may be open, but this is not yet our full event calendar. We’ll continue to update as we progress through the season, so we highly recommend that you follow us on our social media (Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Instagram, LinkedIn and even YouTube) and that you subscribe to our newsletter so as to not miss any announcements.

May I also add, particularly to you Ed, a massive thanks for the work you and the DC team put into this event. The waste management and clean-up went fantastically well on the night, and I am very grateful to you for the work you put into ensuring we had the right level of provision. In particular, can I pass on my personal praise to Dylan and the rest of the team on the night, they were simply amazing, they kept going at a ferocious pace throughout the night and did not let up even right at the end. Their professionalism and energy are the main reason that we, and the College staff here at St Hugh's, were so happy the next morning with how the site looked, almost back to normal. I will be sure to recommend DC highly to future Balls, especially St Hugh's.
